Why am I blogging again?
OK, I’ve done this a few dozen bajillion times before. I set up a blog. I use it a lot for a few weeks. Then I slow down. Then I forget about it completely. It’s an all-too-common pattern–both for me personally, and for the internet as a whole. So why am I trying this again? Well, for a couple of reasons.
My day job is changing
Some exciting changes are coming for me in my career, and I think I’ll have a lot to talk about in the next few months, including new travel opportunities, new technologies, and a whole lot of learning. I’d like to keep track of all of that somewhere, for my own sake, and hopefully to pass on some of my learnings with others.
My night job is changing
When I’m not doing my 9-5, I want to use my time to give back. And I have a vision for how I want to do that. I want to work with non-profit organizations–groups whose causes I believe in and care about–to help them to get the word out about who they are and what they do, mainly through creating websites. I’ll be posting more about what projects I’m working on, and more importantly why I’m working on them.
So…
In short, I’m trying this again because I have something I care about again. And I hope that you’ll care about it, too… at least enough to comment every now and then, and keep me posting.
